Message from the Executive Director- UWASNET
The old African Kings had a unique way of sending information. They used to split one end of a stick and fix a letter. The messenger would then hold the other end of the stick like the Olympic torch and run or walk miles and miles to deliver the king's letter; never would the messenger or anybody touch the letter, and would sleep or stop only in specified places until the letter is delivered, come rain come sun. Some messages would take months before destination.
Uganda Water and Sanitation NGO Network (UWASNET) is happy to come to you in mere seconds by a simple click. We took sometime to mature and be part of the information highway. Thanks to all those that contribute to making the world a better place.
UWASNET is a Network of NGOs and CBOs in water supply and sanitation services in Uganda, with a membership of more than 150, both National and International. We are strong partners and complement Government of Uganda in the realization of the Millennium Development Goals (M.D.Gs). We are part of the growing Global Civil Society and are happy with our simple and effective grassroot inputs. Together, we believe, we have solutions for the growing water crisis and the needed sustainable development.
We treasure the worldwide friends of UWASNET and believe that by being on the web, we shall be like with you all the time you need us. We also believe there are more of our potential associates outside there that we have a lot to share. We therefore, shall be glad to interact with all of you through this media in as many ways as possible.
I wish to thank all those, including the UWASNET staff that have contributed to this website. Please tolerate the shortcomings of our 1st Edition of our website, we shall be glad for comments from critical friends.
